The Farmers Arms carvery is popular, really popular! At times we are almost run off of our feet, though fortunately we have a large comfortable restaurant and a huge function room that can be employed as another restaurant area when business is really brisk.
Several other establishments locally produced carvery meals at one time or another, now ours is the only one in the near vicinity.
What makes our carvery so popular? Great service and great value – that’s all there is to it.
Carvery meals are available between 5.30pm and 8.30pm, we endeavour to cater for all comers as much as is possible, though we do recommend coming earlier rather than later to avoid disappointment.
If you want to book ahead of time, you can always call us on 01841 520303 and chat to one of our staff.
If you have any unusual dietary requirements, give us a ring and we will do our very best to satisfy your request.
My family have been visiting the area ever since I was born (I am now 16 years old). The Farmer’s Arms is quite simply the best pub in the area and the carvery is brill there. I don’t really know any of the staff there, because they are mostly temporary staff who appear in the summer months and then go elsewhere. The ‘Farmers’ is a family pub and is very popular with holidaymakers in the summer, though it seems quite busy all year round, compared to most of the local pubs.
We visited the Farmers Arms on 1st November and sat in the bar area as we had our dog with us.
The carvery was superb and very reasonably priced. The staff were very obliging and friendly. We even left with a doggie bag of some turkey offcuts. Will certainly return when we visit the area again next year.
We very much enjoy your carvery but find the midweek one expensive, it used to be a lot cheaper and I think the numbers were a lot more when it was cheaper. You might take as much money but less people, shame really.
Regretfully our meat and vegetable costs have risen steadily over the past year and that together with the ever increasing cost of energy has meant that we had to raise our prices. We do however try to balance our costs and charges to deliver the best customer value we can, by averaging prices across the year as much as possible, we can also use the high levels of holiday season business to subsidise other times of year. As ever we are always pleased to welcome your comments and encourage all points of view.
